Conference and Retreat Staff II - General

Position Summary:
Provides direct supervision to a specialized area of programming for the Conference and Retreat Season \(roughly end of August to end of May\)\. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring\.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
99. A part of all conference and off season group experience delivery as scheduled
99. Participates in planning and preparation of all summer season projects as assigned
99. Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values\.
99. Responsible for being an active participant in the activity area assigned
99. Practice good role\-modeling by acting in a way appropriate to mold young lives, both on and off duty
99. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards\.
99. Attends staff meetings and trainings\.
99. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies\.
99. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff\. Models relationship\-building skills \(including Listen First\) in all interactions\.
99. All other duties assigned

Requirements
Qualifications:
99. Previous experience working with children preferred
99. Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: Archery, Riflrey, Climbing, general sports, arts and crafts, outdoor living, dance, drama, water skiing, sailing, boat driving, paint ball, High Ropes, lifeguarding, horse wrangling
99. At least 18 years of age
99. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date\.
99. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred\.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
99. Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings\.
99. Ability to work long hours outdoors while maintaining focus and energy levels
99. Ability to walk considerable distances and spend significant periods standing
99. Some activity areas may require ability to lift up to 50lbs and/or be flexible enough to perform the duties required ? Sailing, Motorboat Driving, Alpine Tower

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
